The Fraction Skittles consist of a set of four six-inch wooden skittles introducing wholes, halves, thirds, and quarters. This provides your little ones with an excellent visual example of fractions.
Fraction Skittles provide a sensorial impression of fractions to your little ones, and demonstrate that a whole may be divided into parts. It is also a concrete way to introduce mathematical concepts such as equivalent fractions, all arithmetic functions, conversion between fractions and decimal fractions, and measurement of angles.
The fraction skittles are colour coded to give the child a control of error and can be used in collaboration with the Fraction Circles to calculate equations in division.
The fractions can also be weighed on a balance scale to give another concrete experience of the differences in their size.
