Sandpaper Letters

These Sandpaper Letters  are deemed as a child’s first step towards literacy, a must-have in any Montessori environment. Sandpaper letters are a fun and entertaining material whereby your little ones learn to discover letters and its sounds.

Each wooden square has letters on it with upper-case letters on a blue square and lower-case letters on a red square. The letters are crafted out of good quality sandpaper so children can follow the body of the letter shape easily.

The Sandpaper Letters are housed in a wooden box with two compartments containing print sandpaper letter boards: one with the capital letters A-Z and the other with the lowercase letters a-z.

These help your little ones become familiar with letter sounds through muscular and visual memory and writing for future exercises in composing words. As your little one traces the symbol over and over, the shape of the letter becomes a part of his/her muscle memory. Therefore, sandpaper letters are a wonderful preparation for future reading and writing.
